The present communication deals with macroscopic and microscopic studies of an exotic medicinal plant, Alternanthera pungens H.B. & K. of the family Amaranthacea for Laying down standards for quality assurance. The studies involved diagonstic macro & microscopical characters of root, stem and leaf of the plant.
